The BODY&SOUL Special Nwe Quartet is a special feature of the well-known Madam of BODY&SOUL, Kyoko, who personally picked the members of this group. After graduating from Berklee, Mr. Ishizaki has been active in New York for a while and is a veteran with many co-starring and award-winning records. His alto leads the group, as he plays musically weaving his improvisation beside the beautiful touch of pianist Mr. Taiko. Satsuki Kusunoi holds down the bass notes with his fat, swinging tone and Mr. Murakai’s drums respond firmly with swing. Mr. Murakami is a veteran drummer who once took the world by storm with the jazz fusion band "Native Sun". The bands tunes include an ecletic mix of Bud Powell, The Beatles, Charlie Parker and one of Cannonball’s biggest hits penned by pianist Joe Zawinul, Mercy, Mercy, Mercy. As Cannon said, every one gets a little funky up on this one. Enjoy the show, it’s a lot of fun.

BODY&SOULスペシャルNweカルテットは、知る人ぞ知るBODY&SOULのマダム、京子さんが自らメンバーを選んだというスペシャルなグループである。 石崎忍はバークリー卒業後、NYで活躍し共演や受賞歴も多いベテラン。 アルトを中心に、ピアニストの菊池太光の美しいタッチとともに、即興を織り交ぜながら演奏する。 楠井五月は太くスウィングする音色でベースの音を抑え、村上寛のドラムはしっかりとスウィングして応えている。彼は、かつてジャズ・フュージョン・バンド「ネイティブ・サン」で一世を風靡したベテラン・ドラマーである。バド・パウエル、ビートルズ、チャーリー・パーカー、そしてピアニストのジョー・ザヴィヌルが書いたキャノンボール最大のヒット曲「マーシー、マーシー、マーシー」など、多彩な楽曲が揃う。誰もが少しファンキーになる。 楽しいショーになることは間違いない。BODY&SOUL Special Nwe Quartetは、石崎忍（アルトサックス）、菊池太光（ピアノ）、楠井五月（ベース）、村上寛（ドラムス）の4人。
