Javier Gutiérrez Massó, also known as "Caramelo de Cuba", is one of the essential names on the current scene of Jazz, Latin Jazz and Flamenco Latin Jazz.

Born and educated in Havana, he began playing at a very young age with some of the most important groups on the Cuban scene, such as the Benny Moré orchestra or the Conjunto Casino. As talented as he is versatile, Caramelo has recorded and shared the stage with countless musical personalities, from jazz (Debora Carter, Jerry González, Paquito D'Rivera), to Cuban music (Celia Cruz, Omara Portuondo) and flamenco ( Diego “El Cigala”, Enrique Morente, Paco de Lucía, Josemi Carmona).

Internationally recognized for his career, he has been awarded and nominated on many occasions, among which we can highlight his Grammy nominations (“Piratas del flamenco” in 2004, “Jerry González y el Comando de la clave” in 2012, etc. .), for the best Latin jazz pianist and album in the world for The Latin Jazz Corner (2011) or the selection among the best pianists in the world to participate in the Jazzmen Piano Festival, in Krakow (2009).

Caramelo returns to Café Berlín to give us an exquisite concert in which they will take a tour of almost all the genres and composers of Cuban music, proposing an interpretation that is nourished by the contemporary from the base of a deep knowledge of tradition. Top-level Latin Jazz by three musical geniuses that guarantee an unforgettable evening.
