Across more than a decade the Allan Browne quintet developed and released five albums acclaimed by critics and peers, many of which took cues from great literary works, including those by Rimbaud (The Drunken Boat, A Season in Hell) and Homer (The Odyssey). Seven years on (since Al slipped away), the remaining members of his quintet regather to present new music, again inspired by the written word: This time the scribe/ muse is Al himself.
