Josemi Carmona and Javier Colina form an exceptional duo.

Josemi Carmona, widely recognized for his time with Ketama, is a master of the flamenco guitar who has significantly contributed to the spread of flamenco worldwide. His ability to fuse this genre with other influences is a distinctive feature of his career. Over the years, he has collaborated with an impressive list of artists, attesting to his ability to adapt to different musical styles and create moving music.

On the other hand, Javier Colina is one of the most prominent double bassists in the jazz world. His virtuosity on the double bass and his versatility have allowed him to participate in projects of various musical origins, demonstrating his ability to transcend gender and cultural barriers.

A clear example of musical fusion at its finest. They have managed to blend flamenco with jazz, African music, Latin American folklore, and even soundtracks with a mastery that does not require extravagance or forced postures. Their music flows in an organic and authentic way, creating an unmistakable sound that captures the essence of their respective influences and experiences.

They have forged a friendship and collaboration that has resulted in a unique sound that they call "De Cerca" (Up Close). This title seems to convey the idea of an intimate connection with the music and the audience, generating an authentic and moving musical experience.

The work of Josemi Carmona and Javier Colina continues to demonstrate that music is a universal language capable of uniting cultures and traditions, and their collaboration is a vibrant testimony to this truth.

Josemi Carmona and Javier Colina, along with Bandolero, embarked on a flamenco jazz project that resulted in two albums, "De Cerca" (Universal Music Spain, 2016) and "De Cerca en Directo desde el Café Berlín" (El País, 2017).

The title of these first two releases seems like a statement of intent; a way of interpreting music and establishing a relationship with your listener. The repertoire they propose is a collaborative interpretation of flamenco classics, jazz, and popular music from Latin American origins that delves into the knowledge that precedes them as great pioneers of style fusion.
