Leader of the Mercury-Prize-nominated band Dinosaur, a BBC New Generation Artist & Ivor Composers Award recipient, trumpeter and composer Laura Jurd has most recently been seen at the Club with the Kansas Smitty’s crew. For this show, she’ll be joined by her Trio featuring fellow ‘Dinosaurs’, bassist Ruth Goller and drummer Corrie Dick, playing music Laura describes as ‘blues-laden, folk-influenced and groove heavy”. An exciting and intriguing artist, rooted in tradition but with her own eclectic and original style.
