NANEMEI are group of traditional drummers, dancers and singers from Ghana, West Africa.

The musicians in this group are world class performers, who are specialists in their respective fields.

The group is based in Accra, the capital of Ghana, and the cultural hub of this country. Musicians from all over the country and from all the different ethnic and cultural groups converge on Accra to learn new skills, interact with musicians from other cultural groups and form ensembles that perform locally and internationally.

NANAMEI is one such group. The group performs a repertoire from the Ga people of the Accra region, the Ewe people from the Volta region, plus songs and dances from the Ashanti people and other groups from the North of Ghana.

Led my master dancer Kofi Nortey and master drummer Nii Otu Laryea, NANEMEI play a wide variety of traditional drums and percussion instruments from Ghana. These drums are rarely seen or heard outside Ghana and will include the Obonu drums, Atumpan, Atsimevu and the more popular Kpanlogo drum. NANAMEI also include rhythms and dances from surrounding countries in West Africa using the Djembe and Dun Dun drums.

NANEMEI es un grupo de percusionistas, bailarines y cantantes tradicionales de Ghana, África Occidental.

Los músicos de este grupo son artistas de clase mundial, especialistas en sus respectivos campos.

El grupo tiene su sede en Accra, la capital de Ghana y el centro cultural de este país. Músicos de todo el país y de todos los diferentes grupos étnicos y culturales convergen en Accra para aprender nuevas habilidades, interactuar con músicos de otros grupos culturales y formar conjuntos que actúan a nivel local e internacional.

NANAMEIはそのようなグループの一つだ。アクラ地方のガ族、ヴォルタ地方のエウェ族、そしてアシャンティ族などガーナ北部のグループの歌や踊りをレパートリーとして演奏しているグループなのだ。

マスターダンサーのコフィ・ノーテイとマスタードラマーのニイ・オトゥ・ラリヤーが率いるNANEMEIは、ガーナの伝統的な太鼓や打楽器を幅広く演奏しています。これらの太鼓は、ガーナ国外ではほとんど見聞きすることがなく、オボヌ太鼓、アトゥンパン、アツメブ、そしてより人気のあるコパンロゴ太鼓などが含まれる。また、西アフリカの周辺国のジャンベやダンダンなどの太鼓を使ったリズムや踊りも紹介さ れる。
