Born and bred Victorian, internationally-acclaimed trombonist Shannon Barnett has been based overseas since 2011, firstly in New York City and more recently in Cologne, Germany, where she performed for several years with the renowned WDR Big Band. In 2019 she became Professor for Jazz Trombone at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Co-leading the quartet is the Melbourne-raised drummer, Rajiv Jayaweera who has also been overseas since 2011. He spent ten years based in New York and has recently relocated to the South of Spain. Shannon and Rajiv have performed together in numerous bands over the past twenty years such as Ragstretch, The Bennett’s Lane Big Band and U.nlock. Completing the line-up are long-time collaborators, Sam Anning on double bass and Adelaide-based guitarist Hugh Stuckey. Together they will interpret a variety of compositions from each of the ensemble members.
