Promoting Italy’s best jazz musicians and emerging artists

The Jazz Club Ferrara, formerly the "Club of jazz friends", began its activity at the end of the 1970s. Since then, without any interruption, it has given life to rich and prestigious events animated by illustrious names in the history of international jazz.

Since 1999 it has been operating in the prestigious Torrione San Giovanni, a splendid Renaissance bastion (1493) and jewel of the ancient Estense walls protected by UNESCO, within which - thanks to the contribution of the MIC Ministry of Culture, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Ferrara and Endas Emilia-Romagna.

Every year, many of the protagonists of national and international jazz take to the prestigious stage of the Torrione, while young talents can grow musically in what for many has become one of the liveliest jazz gyms in the region.

The pride of the Jazz Club Ferrara is also the Tower Jazz Composers Orchestra, a resident orchestra made up of over 20 elements coordinated by Piero Bittolo Bon and Alfonso Santimone.
